As a self-confessed control freak, you could imagine my world being turned upside down when the hubs came back one day to inform me that he needed me to go on a trip with him to Philippines!
With the short preparation time and 101 things to settle, it didn’t help when it dawned upon me that my annual travel insurance policy had recently expired! ðŸ˜
But thank goodness for AXA@PostSmartTraveller’s timely offerings of travel insurance and I breathed a sigh of relief as the not-so-tech-savvy me navigated through their website easily. All in the comfort of my home some more!
As I’ll be giving birth to Baby Number 2 in a few months and am unsure of how much travel I would be able to make in the coming year, I decided to go with their Single Trip Plan.
They basically offer 2 types of plans for this – The Essential Plan’s policy coverage basically includes a high medical coverage up to $300,000 and protection for lost or damaged belongings of up to $5,000. And a healthy sum & coverage of things like Personal Accident (which starts coverage before your trip!), Emergency Medical Evacuation & Repatriation, Travel Inconveniences (eg. Flight Cancellation, Delays), Terrorism and even Leisure Sports!
And a Comprehensive Plan that includes better coverage of benefits and sum assured, which I would probably have taken if I went on a longer trip! Hmm, maybe I should start planning for my next holiday trip too… Ok, back to reality first…
Since my trip only required me to zip in and out of the country, I decided on the Essential Plan and was pleasantly surprised to learn that I’m even able to customize it with ‘add-ons’ like insuring my leisure sports equipment, pets, rental car and other optional benefits. You save by buying only what you need… Impressive!
So in summary, this was really how easy it was to purchase AXA@POST’s Travel Insurance.
