Alexa is one month old… We made it!!! (*major victory lap with lotsa 😭 of joy*)

Haha… seriously, we didn’t know what to expect with the addition of a second child. Would it be ten times crazier than the 1st experience?? Coz how do you handle a newborn with all those needs, when you already seem to have your hands full with your firstborn?

Or would it be a breeze coz of the experience you’ve had prior and better know what to expect with number 2?

For us, I must say it’s been the latter (thus far at least…).

Starting from my whole delivery experience (read about it here), to my confinement month. I remember when we had Axl, the first 3 days back home from the hospital I was like a mad/hysterical/crazy woman! Severely sleep deprived, stressed up to the max over the lack of milk supply, desperately trying to soothe a hungry baby to no avail, using the word ‘mad/hysterical/crazy’ is putting it mildly. In fact, I remember starting to feel relatively sane and normal only during the 3rd month! 😅

This time around, we grit our teeth through the 1st day and thereafter managed quite well, I must say. After some trial and error, and working out a routine that best caters to us, we determined to settle in fast. Maybe doing it more so for Axl, as we wanted him to have some stability in the midst of the many changes he had to deal with.

Crédit definitely goes to baby girl too… she has been really kind to me so far. Of course there are days where she cries or drinks very frequently (1.5hrly at times), or I feel like tearing my hair out, sleepless nights etc.But thankfully, she sleeps well and feeds(3hrly) consistently at nights. Generally, considered very good already la…

Anyway, we continued with Alexa’s Full Month party with our family members, some of my mummy and primary/Sec school friends at our place. We hoped it would be more comfortable for Alexa as she had been out the whole day yesterday and we didn’t want to overdo it.

So grateful to our dear family & friends were willing to travel over to the far west!! We always say that occasions are really a great ‘excuse’ for everyone to catch up with one another and spend some time together. Otherwise, it would be so easy to drift apart or get caught up in our own busy schedules.

Thank you for loving Alexa and our family and for being family! ❤️
